The Story
The Byrds visit Soho Square, London, during promotional duties in early August, at the start of their infamous 1965 British tour.
Two weeks before their London arrival, The Byrds’ debut single, ‘Mr. Tambourine Man,’ reaches #1 in the British charts. The group’s follow-up, a reworking of Dylan’s ‘All I Really Want To Do’ will peak at #4 on September 4, behind Sonny & Cher’s ‘I Got You Babe’, The Beatles’ ‘Help’, and The Rolling Stones’ ‘(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction.’
13 Soho Square, which served as the studio of legendary ‘Who Framed Roger Rabbit?’ animator, Richard Williams, is visible in the background between Chris Hillman and Michael Clarke.
