The Story

The Stones book this appearance on Ready Steady Go! to coincide with the release date of their sixth UK single, 'The Last Time' (backed w/'Play With Fire'). The song, written by Jagger/Richard*, is the first original composition released by the group as a single. It will be the third Rolling Stones single in a row to reach No. 1 on the UK singles charts, spending three weeks at the top spot in March and early April 1965. The Last Time will make the top ten in the US, reaching No. 9 on May 1, 1965.

Also appearing on this week's Ready Steady Go!: The Animals, Little Frankie, Tommy Bruce and The Bruisers, Jesse Fuller, an interview with Johnny Nash who introduces Jackie Ross, The Dave Clark Five, and a cameo by The Walker Brothers who introduce The Rolling Stones

*Richards re-establishes the 's' at the end of his surname following the resolution of his 1977 drug bust in Toronto.
