The Story
A wonderfully composed angle of The Beatles performing ‘It Won’t Be Long’ during camera rehearsals. Ready Steady Go! presenter Keith Fordyce looks on from frame right, while to the left of Paul McCartney, co-presenter, Cathy McGowan is visible with her back to camera. This image also provides a fantastic view of George Harrison’s iconic Rickenbacker 360/12 twelve-string guitar, which had been presented to him in New York on February 8, prior to The Beatles’ first appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show. This RSG! broadcast marked only the second public appearance of George performing with the guitar.
